Clarke hails Sky Blues board
Coventry vice-chairman John Clarke OBE has backed the new-look board after hailing the people tasked with rebuilding City as the most competent in his quarter of a century with the Sky Blues.
Local businessman Clarke, a lifelong Coventry supporter, was born in the city and has held a collection of boardroom positions at the club since the 1980s.
A new era was unveiled at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday - with Ken Dulieu as chairman, Paul Clouting as chief executive and, crucially, with SISU still the club`s owners.
Clarke, only himself installed as vice-chairman last week, has given his stamp of approval as cash-strapped Coventry desperately look to get back on their feet.
"I have known every chairman for the past 25 years, I`ve been associate director, board director, chairman for nine days," he said. "This is the most impressive skill set this board`s had in 25 years and I know it because I`ve worked with them. I`ve worked with all the other guys but this is the best board we`ve got to have a good chance of going forward."
Meanwhile, Dulieu also revealed caretaker management duo Andy Thorn and Steve Harrison have thrown their hat into the ring for the position on a permanent basis.
