Leeds promoted Leeds United have won automatic promotion into the Championship after beating Bristol Rovers at Elland Road today. Leeds would gain promotion if they had won, but went behind three minutes into the second half. They had gone down to ten men in the first half when Max Gradel was sent off for violent conduct for an off the ball incident half an hour into the first half. During the game, second place was alternatively occupied by Swindon, Charlton and Millwall, but Leeds hit back with an equaliser in the 59th minute when Howson netted. Elland Road went mad when Beckford, who had done nothing up to then, scored what turned out to be the winner in the 63rd minute. Millwall won their home game against Swindon by 3-2, but will have to be content with a play off place as will Charlton who beat Oldham 0-2. Coventry City fans will now have to organise trips to Norwich and Leeds next season, but will have to wait to see who will join them in the Championship. The play offs for the final place in the Championship are between Milwall who play Huddersfield and Charlton who will play Swindon. In the first leg of the first Championship play off game Blackpool beat Nottingham Forest 2-1.
