Both sides put in plenty of work with Daniels, Ruffles, Roberts  and Garner all busy for the Sky Blue cause. Lee Burge made a good save in the 62nd minute to push over a Swift shot for a corner. In the 72nd minute, City were back in front when Jonson Harris-Clarke got his head to a free kick and sent the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Burge made a cracking save two minutes after the goal and then caught a curler from the impressive Troy Kane. City were denied a fourth goal in the 87th minute when substitute Lewis Rankin got in an acute angle shot which Beeny pushed over the bar for a corner and had to settle for a 3-2 victory.
