City target Tierney in talks with Colchester

U's still hopeful of keeping defender Colchester United has said they want to keep their unsettled left back Marc Tierney at the club and that they are in negotiations with the player and his agents with the aim of offering him  a new contract. Tierney is out of contract with Colchester at the end f the season and could move away fro free, but he is being tracked by Championship clubs Coventry City and Norwich City. Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling is keen to retain the highly rated defender and he said, “As far as we are concerned the situation is still the same." “We haven’t finished negotiating with Marc, the offer remains on the table and he hasn’t said he doesn’t want to renew his contract. There is still plenty of time.”
