Rapport established with IF Helle

Coventry City have set up a link with Norwegian side IF Helle.

City Academy's Recruitment Officer Mark Fogerty set up the link which saw three 13 year old players and a coach come over for a week long visit.

Speaking about the link to the CT, City Academy boss Greg Ricoh said: "It is grabbing knowledge and talent identification in a part of Europe which has developed good players over the years.

"Mark has a link with a company called Premier Skills which is about different styles of coaching and coaching abroad and with that it allows us to build on good relationships and recruit.

"He went out to Norway through some other work, but because of the affinity he has with the club he has built up an interest with IF Helle which now has a rapport with Coventry City.

"It's a good opportunity to bring lads over to gain experience and in return we will go out to do a bit of coaching with them in the close season and experience something abroad.

"And in the future we may be able to take some of our younger lads on tour over there and if there are any talented players we might be able to bring them in at a later date. That is a long way off but there could be a player exchange, although it is very much in its infancy at the moment."
