Coventry has the honour of being the first English city to host an Olympic event during next summer`s Games. The Ricoh Arena will be renamed the City of Coventry Stadium when it hosts a total of 12 men`s and women`s football matches in 2012. The official competition schedule has now been released and the football tournament is due to kick off on July 25 - two days prior to the opening ceremony. Cardiff`s Millennium Stadium gets matters under way at 4pm on that day before Glasgow`s Hampden Park and the City of Coventry Stadium follow suit an hour later with two women`s group matches. Coventry is then scheduled to host further group matches on July 26, 28, 29, 31 and August 1 before a women`s quarter-final on August 3 and the women`s bronze medal match on August 9. Tickets for all but the bronze medal match start at £20 and are available to apply for from March 15.
