Coventry City's 1-0 victory over Bristol City at the Ricoh Arena which was only their third win of the season, has increased the Sky Blues chances of staying up.

City, who now have sixteen points, are now only three points behind Doncaster Rovers who lost 3-0 at Burnley and five points behind Nottingham Forest who were beaten 1-0 at home by Peterborough United.

Bristol City are fourth bottom after their first ever defeat at the Ricoh Arena with 21 points, some five behind Millwall who beat Portsmouth 1-0 at the New Den and six behind Ipswich who drew 1-1 at Leicester City.

Southampton head the Championship table by three points after a 2-0 home win against Crystal Palace, whilst second placed West Ham drew 1-1 at Birmingham City.

Middlesbrough's 1-0 home win over fifth placed Hull keeps them third, with Cardiff fourth after they snatched a point at Watford in a 1-1 draw with an 80th minute own goal.

Reading after in the top six after a 3-0 win over Brighton who travel to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

Blackpool are up to seventh after a 3-1 win at Barnsley and Leeds drop to eighth after losing 1-0 at Derby.
