Former Coventry City midfielder Tim Sherwood is expected to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur for their Capital One Cup game on Wednesday against West Ham United.

Sherwood, who spent most of his time at Coventry out injured, takes over from coach Andre Villas-Boas after he was sacked this morning following a meeting at Spurs' training ground with Chairman Daniel Levy.

Former England manager Fabio Capello is the current bookies favourite for the job.
