Coventry City have said in a statement that they are not going to make a statement about the £14m deal by Coventry City Council to bail out the Ricoh Arena management company Arena Coventry Limited.

A statement issued by the club and sent to media outlets reads:

“Coventry City FC will not be making a statement about a decision taken by Coventry City Council which is a matter for the Council alone. “Our stated policy of not commenting to the media, as negotiations continue regarding the stadium’s rent, will continue and our focus will also be on maintaining the improvements we are making under Mark Robins on the field with the prospect of a visit to Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final in our sights."We have always sought to get round the table and agree a fair rent and look forward to negotiating with ACL to achieve a satisfactory outcome for all parties"
