Coventry City need a cup run according to former striker and defender Dion Dublin.
Now an ambassador for League Cup sponsors Capital One, Dublin told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter: “All you need to do is put a run together, get the players clicking at the right time and you get your best players performing at the right weekend and anything can happen.
Some teams do try and focus on one or the other but if you can balance the two and have a big enough squad to keep both situations strong then you have a chance.
“It keeps your season alive, it sounds stupid so early on, but if you do just keep your toe in the water you can nick results in the competition.
“It keeps the players’ shoulders pinned back and the fans alive, more revenue comes in for the clubs and there is more interest in the football clubs.”
