Waggot preparing his short list

Coventry City Development Officer Steve Waggott is expected to be in a position to have a shortlist of potential managers in the next few days.

With over forty quality applications received, Mr Waggott and those involved in appointing a replacement for Mark Robins have sifted through the applications and are looking to get it down to four or five in the next few days.

Mr Waggott told the club website: “There has been a really interesting mix of applications and we have key criteria that we want the next manager to meet.

“We have sifted through applications, spoken to several people for references and are drawing up a shortlist before conducting the final interview process.   “There are several scenarios we are looking at and I am keeping Lee Carsley fully informed on the situation because he is doing an excellent job, along with the other backroom staff who have been ultra professional throughout the last two weeks."   Whether that list includes Keith Curle, who was at the Ricoh Arena last Saturday is unknown. According to a number of bookmakers, Curle is the evens favourite ahead of Phil Brown, Nick Barmby and Lee Carsley.   More on this: http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/manager-update-260213-679046.aspx   http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/coventry/next-permanent-manager
