Five Goal Win For City Ladies

Coventry City Ladies won 5-0 at Chesham United in a WPL Southern League game this afternoon.

Craig Nicholls side were ahead early through when a Helen Dermody free kick was deflected in to the area for Kim Walton to turn and lay the ball back for City's Welsh international Hayley Ladd to drive low into the far corner of the net.

A second came when Destiny.Toussaint dispossessed a defender and rolled the ball through for Natalie Brace to clip inside near post from 6 yards and in the 39th minute, it was three when Brace scored again.

Against a struggling Chesham side, City went in at half time, 4-0 up thanks to a fourth from Helen Dermody who stroked into the top corner after Toussaint's angled shot had come back off the bar.

It was all Sky Blues in the 2nd half with the referee making some increasingly bizarre calls but they round off a great win with a fifth scored by Captain Natasha Lynch who made it  5-0 with a header from the edge of the box as the keeper failed to make the cross.
