Coventry City Ladies are out of the Women's FA Cup after a Fourth Round home defeat to fellow WPL National Division side Manchester City.

On a cold afternoon at Bedworth United with snowflakes in the air, Chris Holloway's side, still smarting from their League Cup defeat against Aston Villa on Thursday, got into the maroon shirted Manchester City sides.

The visitors had two efforts early on through a Johnston shot and a Young header.

In the 29th minute, Chelsea Nightingale missed an absolute sitter when she directed a through ball wide of Wood's left hand post from two yards out.

City won a corner and Formaston headed over before Dani Young fired at Wood following a 35th minute corner.

Coventry's Welsh international Hayley Ladd made some good solid tackles in midfield as the half came to a close.

The second half was a tight affair and it was not until the hour mark that a clear cut chance was created when Dani Young headed over a cross from the left.

In the 66th minute, the Sky Blues created their best chance when Jade Formaston nodded a Dermody corner onto the crossbar.

Leigh Wood went for a double switch with twenty minutes remaining.

Destiny Toussant had a fine game at the back and was involved in helping to clear an 83rd minute corner.

Man City attacked again and a ball from the left found three Man City players totally unmarked and substitute Sarah Buffer banged home as Coventry appealed for an offside decision which never came and one which meant that Coventry were out.
