Staff Thanked For Getting City Ladies Striker Back

The medical staff of Coventry City Ladies have been praised for the massive part they played in helping Maz Gauntlett to play again.

Gauntlett had been terrorising defences before she was taken down in a WPL National Division home 1-0 win against Reading and stretchered off with a knee ligament damage.

After much hard work from Andy Frampton and his team, Gauntlett has returned, scoring a penalty to help City retain their Birmingham County FA Cup and scored with a trade mark free kick in City Ladies 4-1 win at Aston Villa on Tuesday.

City Ladies boss Chris Holloway said: ‘’What a story. ‘’19 months of going through every emotion for the girl, so the penalty in the final, topped off with Tuesday night’s finish was such a great feeling for everyone.

"Andy Frampton and the medical staff deserve so much credit for all they have done with Maz and the other girls, so last night was for them. Kim (Walton) scoring also made it a double celebration too.’’
