Coventry City took their chances to beat Leicester City Women 3-0

In a WPL League Cup Group 3 game sponsored by Pure Properties at Bedworth United's Oval ground, City had early chances through Dale and Sweetman-Kirk before Leicester who included three former Sky Blues started to dictate the play.

Farrow and Raey fired at Wood but Bianca Bragg took control and started to get the Sky Blues going forward.

In the 36th minute, Nicola Dale went right and centred for Helen Dermody to tap in for her second goal in successive games and give City the lead.

Sue Wood continued to be the busier of the two keepers but in the 56th minute, a City side which had Dermody and Miles doing well in midfield, Toussant pulling the strings in defence went forward and had Callen Barber thump the post from 20 yards.

Leicester were having the changes but Paul Cudby's side were making them count and in the 71st minute, Callen Barber tried her luck from twenty yards and her right footed curler was palmed into her own net by the Leicester keeper.

City attacked four minutes later through substitute Cheryl Edwards and this time, her deft chip sailed into the net and gave the Sky Blues a 3-0 victory.
