City hit by international call-ups
Keiren Westwood and Leon Best have both been selected by Giovanni Trapattoni for the Republic of Ireland's friendly against Australia on Wednesday August 12 - the same night the Sky Blues are due to face Hartlepool in the Carling Cup first round.
A full international fixture list is scheduled for the same date, meaning Northern Ireland international Sammy Clingan, Iceland's Aron Gunnarsson and Wales' Freddy Eastwood could also be missing.
Whether an agreement over the fixture clash can be sorted out between club and country remains to be seen.
If Westwood were to miss out then it would leave Coventry light in the goalkeeping department, with Danny Ireland currently injured and Dimi Konstantopoulos keen to find regular football elsewhere.
