City Have Reasonable Chance of Landing Phillips

Kevin Phillips latest gossip According to some reports, Coventry City have a reasonable chance of landing Kevin Phillips. City manager Andy Thorn has already said that he is willing to speak to the 38 year old and there are media reports that the striker first spotted at Baldock Town is settled living in the Midlands. However, Phillips' wages which are being reported as in the £25k a week bracket would smash the Sky Blues current pay structure if they were to pay it and there is serious doubt that with City losing £6m a year and season ticket sales still a way off the 10,000 the club were looking for, that City could afford his wages plus signing on fees etc. Phillips' former club Birmingham City cannot be ruled out of the picture according to rumours and Phillips, who apparently has the same agent as Chris Hughton is waiting to see who the next manager of The Blues is before making any decision and would stay at St Andrews if the chance arose.
