Former Coventry City player and manager Gordon Strachan feels that City along with a number of Championship clubs have an illness.
Strachan who is involved with his coaching academy in Rugby as well as media work told The Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter: "I'm very much isolated from what is going on at the club at the moment.
"I just know that things aren't going very good at the moment, and they've not been for a while.
"But it's like everybody in football these days, clubs who can't get any money will struggle, it's as simple as that, if you haven't got any money you will struggle unless some freak of nature happens .
"It's a great city, its a great club with fantastic supporters, but there's a lot of clubs like Coventry that have seen better days, it's not just an illness that Coventry have got.
"I had a really good time at Coventry. "I worked with some really great people and I still keep in touch with the players, which is great.
"I wouldn't have changed it for the world, it was a terrific time in my career.
"I was happy with the way everything was at Highfield Road. It was a special atmosphere. The only thing I would have changed was getting relegated.
"Since I have been living in the area I have enjoyed a few games so I keep my fingers crossed for the club."
