City Break Their Passing Record

New passing record for City

Coventry City had more passes in their 2-1 win over Gillingham on Sunday than in any game for the last three years, according to City boss Steven Pressley.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about this, Pressley said: “We have had 50 chances compared to the oppositions’ seven in the last two games.

“But Sunday produced our highest passing rate for the last three years, and we only go back three years. We made 563 passes, which is incredible.

“John Fleck made 98 passes alone compared to Gillingham who made 180 as a team, so that shows the type of influence John had on the game and the type of dominance we had overall. So they were interesting stats this week, but good ones.

“Of course, it’s okay to talk about those stats when you’re winning because when you lose they’re somewhat irrelevant but the statistics are incredible.”
