Pressley Wanting Cup Clearance

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley will find out today if two of his loanees can play in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Hartlepool United.

Pressley wants Sheffield Wednesday, who have changed their manager, to change their decision about not letting Chris Maguire play and Barnsley to let Chris Dagnall feature up front for the Sky Blues who are without both of their leading goalscorers in the injured Leon Clarke and the suspended Callum Wilson.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City boss said: “The fact that the two managers have been sacked has been the problem this week but we hope to find out today,” said the City manager who admits the managerial exits could have a bearing on his plans to extend the pair’s stay if they do well.

“Because of Barnsley’s situation with the manager they came back to us and said all their focus was on their Tuesday night game and they’d let us know today.

“I am also going to ask Sheffield Wednesday if they will reconsider letting us play Chris Maguire.”
