Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has praised Lee Carsley for the job he has been doing.

Carsley, who has made the transistion from player to Academy coach seem like simplicity itself, was in charge of the City Reserves team which beat Leicester City 3-1 on a ground where earlier this month, he had guided City U18's to a 2-1 victory.

Speaking about Carsley to the CT, City boss Andy Thorn, who was not at Belvoir Drive yesterday, said: “I picked the team but Carso managed the boys.

“He’s been doing a terrific job coaching the Academy boys and I am trying to bridge the gap and this was the perfect introduction for him,” added Thorn.

“It’s all new to him but he was buzzing when I asked him to take the lads and it’s the ideal way to integrate him. It provides a bit of back-up for me and H (Steve Harrison) and I am really pleased because we got a good result against a strong Leicester team.”
