City skipper on his injuries Coventry City captain Lee Carsley is still two weeks away from a return to first team football.Carsley, who will be 37 on Monday, has had surgery on an Achilies and hernia injuries told the CT:I was struggling with tendinitis in both Achilles for maybe six weeks prior to having my operation and just managing training sessions and trying to get through games," he said, "but I had a hernia since the start of the season and if it had just been the hernia I would have left it until the summer."But I got to the point, especially over Christmas, where I felt I wasn't able to contribute in games and I wasn't doing myself or the team any justice, so I felt it was the right time to get it done."The Achilles problem was was quite a minor thing - just needing them scraped - and that was done in Sweden. "I was there for four days and then I flew back to London, then to Birmingham and changed my bag at home and got on a plane to Munich on the Monday for four days to get the hernia done, so it was a pretty hectic couple of weeks."The Achilles was probably the worst in terms of pain because usually you can hop around on your good leg but with me having both done it was quite uncomfortable. "But I have started running and hopefully I can start stepping it up this week and hopefully I will be back in a couple of weeks."Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service. Credit CNS/IW
