Football League to investigate According to an article in The Guardian, the Football League are investigating if Coventry City owner Ray Ranson has a say in the sale of Cardiff City players. According to Cardiff City's accounts, the club have a £3.5m loan from Sport Asset Capital, which is a hedge fund managed by Ranson. The Football League want to know if Cardiff need Mr Ranson's permission to transfer players after the accounts of the company which owns Cardiff City showed that when the loan with SAC was sorted out back in May, the fund has a mortgage over Cardiff's transfer receipts. Cardiff's lawyer Alan Whiteley has already denied that the lender can over-ride transfer activity.
