Michael Byng, who is involved in one of the consortiums trying to buy Coventry City Football Club Ltd, has unveilled plans to link Coventry and Warwickshire to the proposed HS2 line which will run out of Birmingham to London.
Alan Marshall, who is working with Mr Byng, who has interests in the NUCKLE scheme which will see a train station built at the Ricoh Arena,, told the Coventry Telegraph that journey times to the HS2 interchange which is planned to be built near the NEC would be dramatically cut and said: "For Coventry commuters, it could shave 12 to 15 minutes off the alternative route of changing at Birmingham International station onto a “people mover” serving the HS2 Interchange.
"Journey times for Nuneaton commuters to the HS2 Interchange could be reduced from 51 to 18 minutes – as passengers would not have to change at Birmingham New Street."
