Buy In To My Culture And I'll Make You A Better Player - Pressley

Pressley on how he wants to develop players

Coventry City Manager Steven Pressley has told his younger players that if they buy into his culture, then he will make them better players.

"All young players have to understand that it is potential and there is a lot of work ahead to become the player that they want to become," Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

"I want to work with them to make them that player but they have to buy in to the culture I want to create and that is a demanding culture where there will be standards every day, and there’s an intensity about the way we go about things.

"And the big thing here is that if you don’t want to be part of that you won’t be, it’s as simple as that, and I genuinely mean that.

"Players with big potential are only of potential and if people don’t buy into the work ethic and demands put on them then they’ll not be at the football club.

"So you either buy into it or you’re not here.

"What I want to do is create a situation where the players feel that their performance in the 21s can definitely affect their opportunity to get into the first team so it becomes a greater competition and intensity in all areas of the football club to play."
