Boss: Westwood was at photocall
Aidy Boothroyd has explained the innocent reason behind Keiren Westwood`s omission from Coventry`s official team photo for the 2010/11 campaign.
The highly sought-after goalkeeper, who is still in lengthy talks with the Sky Blues over a possible new contract, has been tracked by several interested suitors from the Premier League as speculation refuses to go away over his long-term future.
Rumours intensified slightly after Westwood failed to appear in the club`s annual photoshoot for the new season.
But the 25-year-old, whose wife is expecting their first child, was in fact at the photocall, and Boothroyd told the Coventry Telegraph: "Keiren was in his kit and ready to appear in the team photo but was called away at the last minute for family reasons."
Westwood played the entire 90 minutes in City`s 1-1 pre-season draw against West Brom on Saturday.
