Boss to trim squad

Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd is looking to trim his "top-heavy" squad as the transfer window reaches its conclusion. Boothroyd is thought to be close to deals to bring controversial striker Marlon King and Bolton teenager Danny Ward to the Ricoh Arena by the end of the week. If both transfers are completed then departures can be expected. He told the Coventry Telegraph: "I'm very pleased with the way things are going and I think we would have a nice balance with those two. The talent would be here and it's then a question of moulding it all together and turning it into a good team. "In fact, we'd be a little bit top-heavy and would need to move a couple out. "I'm well aware that we have a budget that has to be sorted out, and we've got players that might need to play their football elsewhere."
