Boothroyd: Wood not for sale

Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd insists defender Richard Wood is not for sale. Sheffield United are reportedly interested in the former Sheffield Wednesday centre-half but Boothroyd is not prepared to sell the 25-year-old under any circumstances. "I haven't had an inquiry but Richard Wood wouldn't be for sale - definitely not," Boothroyd told the Coventry Telegraph. "He's a terrific player and I'm certainly not looking to get rid of him." Meanwhile, Boothroyd has asked Wood's fellow defender James McPake to be patient as he seeks his first appearance in the npower Championship this season. Boothroyd added: "It's a difficult one because professional footballers want to play and you can only keep so many players who are out of the team happy. "James will get his chance - it's just a question of being patient and biding his time until he gets back into the side."
