Boothroyd to use international break to improve

A bit of fine tuning needed to add to promotion challenge Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd will use the international break to fine tune tactics and strategy in an attempt to give his side the edge in their quest to win a few extra points which may be the difference between making the playoffs and missing out. Currently Coventry City have amassed 1.5 points per game so far this season, which is close to the 1.6 points per game which has been sufficient to make the top six in previous years. Boothroyd is keen to fine tune his sides ability to make up the small deficit. Boothroyd is in no doubt that his players have the ability and talent needed to make the playoffs this year and is convinced that they can find that little extra improvement to make it. He intends to use the next fortnight as productively as possible even though he will be without a few of his international players who will be on duty with their national teams. Boothroyd is not a fan of the enforced layoff during international fixtures. He explained,  “I never really enjoy these breaks because if I had my way we’d be playing every day, but the coach in me says that this is a good opportunity to do some valuable work. “We’ve got time to sit down with certain individuals, talk to them, show them the things they’re doing well and the things they need to improve and we’ll be doing some much needed work at Ryton, because it’s going to be training and repetition that makes us a stronger outfit.”
