Boothroyd Starts Keeper Search Again
City boss looking for another keeper Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd appears to be looking for yet another keeper after Iain Turner was sent back to Everton with cuts and concussion.City had already taken Colin Doyle on a month's emergency loan and he played against Morecambe as number one choice keeper Keiren Westwood was away on international duty. However, the Irishman was recalled by Birmingham City following an injury to first choice keeper Ben Foster.Iain Turner was signed from Everton on Saturday morning and started at Watford but was forced off in the 15th minute when he collided with Danny Graham and suffered bruises and concussion.After the game, which saw Coventry kid Michael Quirke (pictured below), who described his debut as "a good day that won't be forgotten any time soon", take over in goal to become the fourth City keeper used in three matches, Aidy Boothroyd told the press: "We got Iain straight off to hospital and we'll get him back up to Everton tomorrow (Sunday)."Having not renewed the contract of number two keeper Dimi Konstantopolous in the summer and the injury to Danny Ireland, Boothroyd has been without a number two keeper and has been looking for a regular understudy for Keiren Westwood for some time. Goalkeepers Kevin Ellegaard and Lawrence Thomas have both been on trial at the club during pre-season but neither has been offered a contract by the Sky Blues management team.
