Boothroyd ponders team for Hinkley game
Likely to be more of the same Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has hinted that the squad to face Hinkley on Saturday will be similar to that that played at Nuneaton on Wednesday evening in a 0-0 draw. Boothroyd explained how he thought he would manage the game and try to give his fit players game time, saying, “We are splitting it 60-30 so that everyone gets an hour and then we will get into the games next week when we will start getting down to the team that I think will start the season, or close to it.” Several of last seasons first choice players were missing on Wednesday night. Central defender James McPake is still yet to play his first game of the pre-season as he is not yet quite fit enough. Freddy Eastwood, who is recovering from a dead leg picked up in Austria and David Bell were both rested as a precaution at Nuneaton.'); // --> Boothroyd explained,“Freddy has got a slight knock while James McPake and David Bell are just a little bit behind everyone else in terms of what they had last year. This week’s game was a good chance to have a look at the young boys and I thought they did very well and it kind of underlines what we need more than anything else. “It is a work in progress and we move on to the next game when I am sure it will be another tough game against Hinkley and we will try to add some goals, but we all know that.”
