Boothroyd pleased for Adams
New job for former Coventry boss Former Coventry City manager Micky Adams has been appointed as Gary Speed's replacement as manager of Sheffield United. Speed left The Blades to become manager of Wales and Adams was offered the chance to manage the side he has supported for most of his life. The current Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd said, “I know Micky well and I’m very pleased for him.” “I always believe in horses for courses and it’s refreshing to see a club looking beyond the short term. Instead of getting a plane to Europe or Argentina they’ve gone for somebody who has proved he can manage people and be successful.” Micky Adams said after his appointment as the new Sheffield United manager, “There is no doubt my task is threefold. Firstly, to ensure we avoid relegation and there is clearly enough time left in the season to do that." “Secondly, to help us become a team that can challenge for promotion. Lastly, to develop a structure that will see us build a reputation for home grown talent that fans can be proud of in their team." “With the support of the board and the football staff, I intend to do everything I can to bring all that about.”
