Manger concedes there is still work to be done Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd said after last nights friendly game at Northampton that he was happy with the way the team played and with their attitude. City ran out 1-0 winners with James McPake getting the winning goal in the 5th minute of the game, but the Sky Blues wasted a host of chances to put a high gloss on the scoreline. Coventry City found themselves playing against a side with three former City players,Marcus Hall, Kevin Thornton and Liam Davis. All three players received a warm welcome form the travelling City support, but the loudest cheer was for Marcus Hall.  Boothroyd said after the game, “I thought it was terrific and I was really pleased with it. It is a work in progress and we have still got a bit to do but I thought in terms of application, spirit and organisation, I thought we were really good." “We looked like we were running out of steam and then we came again and that’s why we have been training three times a day, so it is not about peaking now, it is making sure we are right for the Portsmouth game, so I was really pleased with that.” Then he added, “While I never like to single players out, I thought that Aron Gunnarsson, Chris Hussey and Freddy Eastwood were the pick of what was a very solid team performance. “It was a good workout because Northampton had a terrific end to their season and I think our fans were pleased to see a goal after going to two games and not seeing any, but we are creating chances and it is a question of timing and some players take a little bit longer to get that back than others." “Nothing is ever won in July but it is nice to get that winning feeling and nice to get another clean sheet because it is a habit.”
