Boothroyd delighted with away win
Injury hit side beat bogey side for first time in 47 years Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd was delighted to see his side beat bristol City on their home turf for the first time in 47 years. The Sky Blues had not won on the road since their March win at Peterborough, something Boothroyd has been determined to put right since his tenure in the City hot seat began in the summer. Boothroyd had all the more reason to be happy as his side has recently been hit by a savage spate of injuries. Fourteen City players are receiving treatment at the moment. "We had 14 players unavailable for this game and yet throughout the team there were good performances. I wasn't here when the club last won away so it was an important hurdle to overcome, said Boothroyd. "Now we really have something to build on. We were defensively solid and impressive offensively so I have to be very satisfied and I believe we can still do better." City took the lead when Platt received a perfect long pass from Sammy Clingan and ran on to score his second goal for his new club in three games. Bristol equalised in controversial manner when Coventry defender was on the ground with a face injury. The referee waved play on despite blood flowing from Ben Turner's mouth. Former Coventry loan player Jon Stead passed from the right for Marvin Elliott to score. In befitting manner Ben Turner then scored the winer with a header almost on the goal line at the far post from a Sammy Clingan free kick which was flicked on by Richard Wood.
