Boothroyd Calls For Goal-line Technology

City boss claims it was a goal Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd rued the fact that his side went into the half time break at Ipswich Town on Saturday only 1-0 up when he thought they should have been given a goal which was adjudged not to have crossed the line.Jutkiewicz's shot rebounded off the crossbar, bounced and was then caught by Fulop in the Ipswich goal, but Boothroyd claims replays clearly show the ball had crossed the line. However, Boothroyd did not blame the officials, saying to the CT: "You can't blame the referee for that because he hasn't got the benefit of goal line technology which he should have. Officials need help and I've been advocating technology for a long time. Don't forget I was the manager at Watford when we had the ghost goal against Reading.""Had the result gone the other way I'd maybe be making more of it but you tend to think that these things even themselves out eventually and you've just got to get on with it. It happened very fast because Lukas properly whacked it. I'll tell him that next time he should try to put a bit of top-spin on it rather than back-spin so maybe it will stay in!"
