Folly Lane 0-1 Bolehall Swifts
Bolehall Swifts are through to the Coventry Charity Cup Final, sponsored by the Premier Group, after a late 1-0 victory over Folly Lane tonight.
A cold night at Allard Way did not put off the spectators for the second Semi-Final and a good crowd saw an enthralling game between two sides, three divisions apart, determined to make sure that no quarter was given.
The first real chance came in the 23rd minute when Swifts lone striker Thompson sent a right foot volley over and three minutes later, Lane’s Jack Teggin had a header cleared off the line.
In the 38th minute, Folly Lane substitute Pete Bone saw his low shot from inside the area strike the far post and bounce out before team mate Jayden Rickhuss had a shot saved.
Things were pretty even in the second half but the Coventry Alliance side should have taken the lead in the 74th minute when Jack Teggin sent a header from a lovely cross from the left inches wide of McNally’s right hand post.
The Midland Combination Premier Division side started to raise their game with substitute Ball having a shot pushed around for a 78th minute corner.
In the 81st minute, McAdams crashed a header against the bar and the match looked like it was going into extra time.
Referee Adam Lenton had played three minute when he waved play on after a foul. The ball came into the area for Thompson who turned and lashed the ball into the net to send Bolehall Swifts into a Ricoh Arena final against Alvis on Tuesday April 23rd.
