Bluebirds interested in King
Cardiff have approached Coventry over the signing of Marlon King, the striker`s agent has revealed.
King, 30, was signed by then Sky Blues boss and friend Aidy Boothroyd on a one-year deal in September shortly after his well-publicised release from jail.
After finding his feet King has now scored six league goals but it has not been enough to stop Coventry`s slide down the table and the subsequent sacking of Boothroyd.
With the forward out of contract in the summer, his form has alerted a series of clubs, including promotion-chasing Cardiff who are understood to be keen to sort a deal now to replace the injured Michael Chopra and help boost their promotion charge, although Coventry caretaker boss Andy Thorn will be reluctant to part with his leading scorer given the midlands club`s current predicament.
King`s agent Tony Finnigan told skysports.com: "There has been dialogue between Cardiff and Coventry, that is true. If the two clubs reach agreement, then talks may happen - but that is not up to us and Marlon is more than happy at Coventry.
"Marlon has been playing really well and since signing for Coventry has proven what a top striker he is. He is out of contract in the summer that is no secret, but neither has been his desire to open talks over a new deal."
