Blaze lose at home Coventry Blaze were beaten at home by the club they own - Hull Stingrays tonight at the Sky Dome.The Blaze used the game to support "Help For Heroes" and mark the 70th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz. There was a minute's silence and there was a ceremonial puck drop before the game got underway in front of a not big crowd.Coventry were ahead on 1.32 when Brad Cruickshank scored, assisted by Chambers and Owen but that was as good as it got.Some of the Rays fans celebrated the Blaze goal but on 20.56m they had a goal to cheer when Tendler equalised.Into the third period and it was Hull who took the lead through Tendler's second of the night on 42.30.Ten minutes later, the Hull fans had more to cheer when Grundmanis hit the third and after the Blaze's Greg Chambers had received ten minutes for abusing an official, Coburn hit a powerplay goal on 55.50.The Blaze fans started to leave as Usivirta hit the fifth on 57.46 and it was the away fans who were left to celebrate a 5-1 win. On Tuesday night, the Blaze travel to Edinburgh before a trip to Nottingham on Saturday and a home game against Braehead Clan on Sunday.
