The striker, 22, has a year remaining on his current contract but the club are keen to extend his stay at the Ricoh Arena with an improved deal. Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph: "We turned down a serious offer from Nottingham Forest within weeks of my taking over the club back in January 2008, so that was a statement of intent from us that we felt he was a player with great potential. "We have had bits of interest in him since then from various clubs but we firmly believe he is one for the future and that he can build and develop his career here with us. "He has got 12 months left on his current contract and we will hopefully sit down with Leon and his agent very soon and thrash out a new deal. "I had already spoken to his agent at the end of the season and hopefully we will get the time to sit down in the coming weeks."
