Barnett to become a Canary?

Former City loanee on the move Leon Barnett, who spent much of last season on loan at Coventry City from West Bromwich Albion could be on his way to Norwich on another loan deal. Former City manager Chris Coleman was keen to sign the 24 year old defender on a permanent deal, but all fell through when Coleman was sacked. Barnett was sent off at Newcastle while playing for Coventry and after serving his ban for the red card he returned in the home game against Scunthorpe and was sent off again when he conceded a penalty and received a second yellow card. Norwich Evening News 24 is reporting that Norwich City are keen to take the 24 year old on loan as cover for their injured Michael Nelson who suffered an ankle injury in Norwich's home win over Swansea City last Saturday. West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has indicated his willingness to let Barnett go out on loan again and if the deal does go through, then Barnett will join up with another former Sky Blue, Elliott Ward.
