Scott Dann targeted by Gunners Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with former Coventry City defender Scott Dann. Coventry City  will benefit from any sale of Dann because of a sell on clause which was part of the deal that took Dann from Coventry to Birmingham two years ago. Caughtoffside.com is reporting that Arsene Wenger has lost interest in signing Bolton's Gary Cahill after Trotters manager Owen Coyle suddenly demanded the full £17m release clause fee in Cahill's contract even though he only has one year left on his contract. Wenger thought he had agreed terms with Coyle to part with £13m plus the loan of two Arsenal youngsters Ignasi Miquel and Henri Lansbury, but Coyle is now said to be demanding £17m plus the two players. The 24 year old Dann is widely regarded as one of the best young English defenders in the country despite missing the last four months of Birmingham's relegation season with a hamstring injury. Should Birmingham agree to sell Dann, Coventry City stand to pocket 10% of the the fee. Arsenal are said to be making an offer of £10m. Stoke had an offer turned down for Dann, but are still interested in signing the central defender. Chelsea are also thought to be in the hunt.
