Another Defeat For Nuneaton
National Non-League Day local round up On National Non-League Day, wins were in something of a short supply for our major teams. Nuneaton Town were beaten 1-0 at home by Gainsborough Trinity. Boyce scored the only goal of this Conference North game in the sixth minute. Leamington lost 2-1 at Oxford City with Morley scoring a 78th minute consolation goal. In the FA Cup Rugby Town were held 0-0 by Gornal Athletic but Bedworth United are through thanks to a 2-1 win over Sutton Coldfield with first half goals from Roper and Goodyear. Coventry Sphinx lost 2-1 at Stratford Town, Atherstone Town lost 5-1 at Kidsgrove In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood lost 1-0 at Bolehall Swifts, Nuneaton Griff lost 2-1 at home to Pelsall Villa but Racing Club Warwick won 1-0 at Earlswood Town and Southam beat Walsall Wood 4-2. In Division One, Alvis drew 3-3 at Stretton Eagles and in Division Two, Coventry Spartans beat Enville Ath 2-1 and Coventry Sphinx based Young Warriors beat Chelmsley Town 3-1 whilst FC Stratford drew 2-2 at Perrywood, the same score Leamington Hibernian were held to in their game against Barton United.
