City Old Boy News Former Coventry City loanee Paul Trollope has been sacked as Bristol Rovers manager.Last night, his side went out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game against Exeter City and today he paid by the penalty and was placed on immediate gardening leave."We find ourselves in the bottom four, with attendances dropping off rapidly and felt that immediate action was needed," said Bristol Rovers Chairman Nick Higgs to the BBC. "We would all like to thank Paul for everything he has done for the club over the last five years. "He presided over a very successful period for us, and became one of only five managers in the history of the club to secure promotion with Bristol Rovers."We now hope to make a prompt appointment to take over the managerial role and get the club moving back in the right direction."Trollope, made City appearances for City in 2002 and played for Swindon, Torquay, Derby, Grimsby, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Northampton and Bristol Rovers. He became first team coach in 2005.___________________________________________________________Leon Barnett has accept a charge of Improper Conduct after throwing a ball at the referee who sent him off in Norwich City's 2-0 against Portsmouth on Saturday. The Norwich defender has asked for a personal Football Disciplinary Commission hearing which will meet on Wednesday 22nd December to hear his case. Barnett is already banned from playing against City on Saturday after being sent off.__________________________________________________________Craig Bellamy is to meet new Wales Boss Gary Speed with a view to becoming the captain of Wales.
