Platt on signing for City Latest Coventry City signing Clive Platt has said that joining the Sky Blues was an opportunity he could not turn down.Speaking to the CT about his move from Colchester United for a nominal fee, Wolverhampton born Platt said: "I grew up down the road at Walsall where I started my career so I know all about Coventry and what a massive club it is. It is a huge pat on the back for me that the manager wants me here and it is a great honour to be part of this prestigious football club."The manager is the reason I am here. He believes in me and I know that he gets the best out of his players. That's what he did at Colchester last season and having been here for just a few days I can already sense that there is a really positive vibe about the place."He is a really likeable guy and meticulous in everything he does. He is so enthusiastic and wants to win every game and he gets everyone at the club from the players, staff and supporters all thinking the same way."First and foremost, I want to fight for a place in the first team. Hopefully, I can play some part in the West Brom game and it would be great to play against Portsmouth next week."I have had a decent pre-season and scored a couple of goals and wherever I have been I have always forged good partnerships. My old strike partners have said they enjoyed playing with me. I partnered Izzy McLeod at MK Dons and Kevin Lisbie at Colchester and hopefully, I can bring out the best of whoever I play alongside. "It is always nice to score a goal yourself but I get flick-ons and hopefully bring others into play and maybe occupy opponents to allow others to create goals. But the main thing is that the team gets results."
