Aidy disappointed after loss

Aidy Boothroyd was disappointed with the efforts of his much-changed Coventry side as they slipped to a 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at League Two Morecambe. Boothroyd made 10 alterations to the team that defeated Portsmouth 2-0 on the opening day of the season and the decision backfired as two goals from Andy Fleming secured victory for the Shrimps in their first game at the new Globe Arena. "I made a number of changes but I still expected a lot more than what I got," said Boothroyd. "Morecambe were always going to be up for it on what was a big night for them in their new ground but we helped them enjoy the party. "We have had a great pre-season and had a good win on Saturday and I have a good squad here. I gave a few of the younger players a chance to show what they could do but they didn't produce and that was disappointing, and I feel really sorry for the fans who made the journey here. "I will take nothing away from Morecambe because they played well but we should have done a lot better than we did."
