25 Times I Was Blanked By Boothroyd - McIndoe

McIndoe got the silent treatment by Boothroyd. Michael McIndoe has admitted that he tried to ask then Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd why he had been left out on twenty five occasions but did not receive an answer.McIndoe, not the only person in the club to have his feathers ruffled by Mr Boothroyd, was delighted to be back in the City squad and featuring as a substitute during the defeat to Preston and he told the CT: "I was like a kid in a candy shop and it is just disappointing that we didn't pick up at least a point because we should really see the game out and a lack of professionalism has let us down a bit."If I can try to cram six months into the next eight games I promise you I will do it because I have got so much energy and enthusiasm to do well for the club and I just hope I get my chance to show that."It is the first time in 15 years of my career that I have been sat fit and not doing anything. "I feel like I have been cheating the club a little bit because I have been champing at the bit and fit and ready to go but circumstances have been dictating that and I am just happy to be involved again."Asked what went wrong, he said: "At the end of the day the previous manager didn't want to pick me. "I don't really have a valid explanation for it because I have been sat around most of the season fit. I had to go to Milton Keynes Dons to get some games and to keep my fitness up."I spoke to him on 25 different occasions but it didn't get me anywhere. "Football is all about opinions but it is very strange to be frozen out completely, especially when you have done nothing wrong. "But it is just one of those things that you have to get on with."McIndoe went on to say there had been no fall-out saying: "There was no row, nothing at all, not in the slightest."People always talk about loyalty the other way but I have been desperate to get a game and I was just happy to get on at Preston because I have been very frustrated over the last six or seven months not playing."I am a Coventry City football player and I am committed to the club and if there is any chance of getting on the football pitch I will be giving it my all."
