Yeates enjoys U's success

In-form Colchester United midfielder Mark Yeates has played down his goalscoring prowess from free-kicks this season.

The 22-year-old Irishman has seven goals in total for the U's already this term, but says that he does not practice set-pieces for too long.

Yeates told the East Anglian Daily Times: "It's going well for me at the moment.

"The free-kicks keep going in for me, but I don't practise them that much, perhaps just for a few minutes here and there after training. I certainly don't spend hours practising them.

"I set myself a target of at least ten goals this season, so I'm getting there quicker than expected.

"I don't think I'm necessarily playing any better than the two previous seasons, it's just that I'm scoring more goals."
