Williams heaps praise on Platt

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams praised striker Clive Platt for his performance in the 3-1 victory at Swindon Town.

Platt didn't get his name on the scoresheet, but Williams felt that the big frontman was a key figure in the win.

He told The Gazette: "Clive Platt gave a masterclass of how to be a target man.

"He pulled on to people, he ran into channels, he got the ball into feet and held the ball up. He gave their two centre-halves a torrid time.

"People work off and around him and when he's that dominant, we have to use it and we did."
