Williams cools play-off talk

Geraint Williams is refusing to contemplate a possible play-off push after watching his Colchester side thrash Hull City 5-1 at Layer Road on Tuesday evening.
Williams saw his side come from behind to secure eighth successive home win against a side managed by his former boss Phil Parkinson, who quit the club to take over the Tigers hot seat in the summer.
Hull opened the scoring through Nicky Forster on 16 minutes but Chris Iwelumo equalised three minutes later, before he added another three goals after the break and was joined on the scoresheet by Jamie Cureton in a storming second half.
Williams said: "I'm delighted for the players. In the first half we were a bit flat and we got caught out to let them go ahead.
"However, Iwelumo scored a great header to get us going again and it was important that we really got stuck into them after the restart."
The result sees the U's in seventh spot just three points off the play-off places, but Williams is not even thinking about that at the moment.
He added: "The only P word I'm thinking of if points and not play-offs."
