Ward: We did it hard way
Colchester manager John Ward saluted non-league Swindon Supermarine after his side edged through to the third round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win.David Mooney struck in the 21st minute and that was enough to see off Mark Collier's plucky outfit. Ward said: "It was an FA Cup tie and if we get the tie I'm talking about - going away to a big club - then we want to make it hard for them."It was no more than I expected - it was their big moment and they've really lived up to it. They've really played above themselves I guess and we've really had to show what we're about too."Cup football is all about no second chance and we wanted to make sure that we didn't go to a replay or get knocked out."We've done it the hard way, but we've done it. We've had 17 shots at their goal which might surprise people and we've put one of them away."We scored a really good goal, with some slick football. I think that one moment was deserving of winning the game and I was really pleased to see the boys play that way. We had a lot of possession in the first half and had to try and wear them down, but they had a lot more in the second half. It was a cracking FA Cup tie."
